Answer:

Given : f= 18cm , h2 = h1

To find : u = ?

Solution : 1) h2 = h1

2h2 = h1 ………….(i )

M = ℎ2ℎ1 =−

ℎ22ℎ2 =− from eq i

12 =−

12 =− 1

1 =− 2 …. (ii)

According to the mirror formula

1 + 1 = 1

−2 + 1 = 118

−2+1 = 118

−1 = 118

u = -18 cm

Ans : the distance of the object from the mirror is 18 cm .
