A convex mirror has its radius of curvature 20 cm. Find the position of the image of a object placed at a distance of 12 cm from the mirror.​

From mirror formula, u1+v1=f1;u is −ve             (∵f=2R=220=10cm)

v1=f1−u1

=10−1+12−1=−(605+6)=60−11      (∵f is −ve for a concave mirror)

∴v=1160cm

So the distance of the image is 1160cm and it is virtual (−ve)
