Given :-

A convex mirror of focal length = + 1 m , because focal length = Radius / 2.

Distance of bus from the mirror, u = - 6 m

To Find :-

Position and nature of the image.

Solution :-

We are given focal length and distance of object, so let's find the position of the image, formed which can be calculated using the mirror formula,

1 / f = 1/v + 1/u

⇒ 1 / 1 = 1/v - 1/6

⇒ 1 + 1/6 = 1/v

⇒ 1/v = (6 + 1)/6

⇒ 1/v = 7/6

v = 6 / 7 m

So, The position of the image is 6/7 m from the mirror. Now, Let's find the nature of it by looking at the magnification,

⇒ m = - v/u

⇒ m = -(6/7) / (-6)

m = 1/7

Properties of Image :-

  • Nature : Virtual and Erect.
  • Size : Smaller than object.
  • Position : 6/7 m behind the mirror.

Position and nature of Image

 \huge \sf {Formula}

 \frac{1}{f}  =  \frac{1}{v}  +  \frac{1}{u}

Solution

➡️1/1 = 1/v + 1/6

➡️1+1/6= V

➡️1/V = (6+1)/6

➡️1/V = 7/6

➡️V = 6/7 m
