A copper.plate was dipped into a solution of silver nitrate .after sometime a black layer was observaed on the surface of copper plate.state the reason for it and write chemical equation of the reaction involved

Hey mate I think so your question is wrong
Because when copper is dipped in silver nitrate solution , more reactive copper displaces silver from silver nitrate solution the silver which is librated get deposited on the copper plate as a result a shiny cote of silver will formed on copper plate
Chemical reaction is
Cu + 2AgNO3 gives (CuNO3)2 + 2Ag
