Given :

A copper wire of length 44 cm is to be bent into a square and a circle.

To Find :

Which will have a larger area?

Solution :

We know that,

Circumference of circle

➞ 2πr = 44 cm

➞ 2 × 22/7 × R = 44

➞ R = 7 cm

Finding Area of Circle = πr²

➞ 22/7 × (7)²

➞ 22/7 × 49

➞ 154 cm²

The wire is converted in square

Perimeter Of Square= 44 cm

➞ 4 × side = 44

➞ Side = 44/4

➞ Side = 10 cm

Finding Area of Square = (Side)²

➞ 11 × 11

➞ 121 cm²

Area of Circle is Greater than square
