A copper wire of resistance 50 ohm is appended in a block of Ice and potential difference of 220 V is applied across it .calculate the rate at which ice melts .
latent heat of ice =80 cal g ^1
plz it's very urgent​

rate of production of heat = V^2/R

= 220 × 220/50

= 968Js

= 968/4.2

=238.5 cal s

now rate at which ice melts =238.5 /80

= 2.9 g s ^1
