A courtyard is 40 metre long, 24 metre wide and a paved path 3 metre wide runs around the edge of it, inside find the area of the path.​

Answer:

The path is in the inside of the courtyard. so the total area of the courtyard is

40×24 = 960 m²

Area of the path = total area of the courtyard(including path) - area of the courtyard

Area of the courtyard = (40-6) × (24-6) = 34 × 18 = 612 m²

Area of the path = 960 - 612 = 348 m²
