Answer:

640 oranges in the crate

Step-by-step explanation:

Unsalable bruised oranges : Bruised oranges = 3 : 4

Unsalable bruised oranges = 12

Bruised oranges = Unsalable bruised oranges × 4 / 3 = 12 × 4 / 3 = 16

Bruised oranges : Oranges = 1 : 40

Oranges = Bruised oranges × 40 / 1 = 16 × 40 / 1 = 640
