(66 2/3)---------- (x) = 8   100 Solve for x (66 2/3)x = 800 x = 800/(66 2/3) x = 800/(200/3) x = 800(3/200) x = 4(3) x = 12

There are 12 people are in the crew.

Let there be 'x' no. of people in the crew.

Given that, 66 2/3% of the crew are men, or 200/3 % of the crew are men.

So, the no. of men are (200/3)% of x, which is:

[(200/3) ÷ 100] × x

= 200x/300

From the question, it is mentioned that the crew has 8 men.

So, 200x/300 = 8

⇒ x = (8 × 300) ÷ 200

⇒ x = 2400 ÷ 200

⇒ x = 12

Total people = x = 12.
