we define impulse as large force acting in small time...

ForCe = mass. × acceleration..

===>> given. = mass = 0.105kg..

velocity = 35 m/s..

t =0.4s..

F = m × v/t

= 0.105 × 35/0.4==(1)

= 9.1875 N

we have impulse = .105× 35/0.4× 0.4

= 3.675..

..

retarding force is 9.1875N,,,

where as retardation is..

v-u/t =a

-35/0.4= -87.5 ms^{-2}
