Let us assume the ball is stopped in t seconds.
 v = u + at        0 = - 72 * 5/18 + a t        a = 20 / t  m/sec²

average Force =  m * a = 0.4 * 20 / t = 8 / t  Newtons.

If the ball is stopped in 0.2 seconds,  average Force = 40 Newtons
average force depends on the time duration.
