A cricket ball of mass 120 g is bowled at 30 m/s straight towards a batsman. The batsman makes a massive square hook shot at right angle to the wicket to hit the ball at 40 m/s. What average force did the cricket bat exert on the ball if bat and ball were in contact for only 0.10 s?

Answer:

ANSWER IS 12000N

Explanation:

mass of ball=120g

initial velocity (u) of ball=30m/s

final velocity (u) of ball=40m/s

time given=0.10s

Acceleration =v-u/t

(40-30)/0.1

=100m/s2

Force=mass*acceleration

120*100

=12000N
