Answer:

V=LBH

204=L*3.5*5

L=204÷17.5

L=11.6(NEARLY)

THE ERROR MADE BY JOE IS HE ADDED 3.5 AND 5 WHEN HE SHOULD HAVE MULTIPLIED THEM

The retarding force is 60N.

Given:

a cricket players holds a cricket ball of mass 0.1kg by moving his hands backward by 0.75m.if the initial velocity of the ball is 108km/hr

To find:

find the retarding force applied by the player

Solution:

We have been given mass, initial velocity, final velocity and we have to apply formula to find the retarding force.

m=0.1 kg , s=0.75m , u=108 km/h=30 m/s , v=0 m/s

2as=v^2 - u^2

2*a*0.75 = -900

a = -900/1.5

a = -600m/s^2

F = ma

F = 0.1*-600

F=-60N

The negative sign shows the retarding force.

Hence, the answer is 60N.
