Let the number of total matches played = X

Percentage of matches won = 60%

Now, percentage of matches lost

= (100-60)%

= 40%

Number of matches lost = 40% of X=

➡ $\dfrac{40}{100} \times x$

➡ $\dfrac{2}{5}x$

According to question ,

➡ $\dfrac{2}{5}x$ =24

➡2x = 120

➡X = 60

✏ Total number of matches played = 60
