since critical angle for the medium is 60 degree
we know that refractive index=1/sin c
here c is critical angle
so refractive index =1/sin 60
=2/root 3

hope it helps u

Answer:

A critical angle for a medium is 60 degree . The refractive index of the medium is μ=  \frac{1}{sinC} = \frac{1}{sin60}° =\frac{2}{\sqrt{3} }

Explanation:

When a ray of light is incident at an angle of 60° on a medium with a refractive index of n, the angle of refraction is half the angle of incidence. A refractive index is the ratio of the velocities of a light ray in air to the given medium. Thus, the critical angle and refractive index are related because the critical angle is inversely proportional to the refractive index.

μ=  \frac{1}{sinC} = \frac{1}{sin60}° =\frac{2}{\sqrt{3} }
