volume of cube is 8x8x8=512 cubic cm.
it is equal to the volume displaced by it in the vessel when immersed.

so volume of vessel =L.B.H
20 x 18 x h= 512
h= 512/360= 1.42cm

Answer:

1.42 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Measure of edge of cube = 8 cm

Volume of cube = side³

= (8)³ cm³ = 512 cm³

Let level of water increased due to immersing cube in the vessel be x cm.

Volume of water displaced by cube in the vessel = Volume of cube

24 × 18 × x = 512

x = 512/20×18

x = 64/5×9

[x = 1.42 cm]
