Differentiate between Himalayan ,mountain and plateau

Himalaya mountain:
(i)It is geologicaly young and structurally fold mountain, streached over the northern boders of India.
(ii) Ranges run in a west-east direction from the Indus to Brahmaputra.
(iii) Forms an arc, covers a distance of about 2400km.
(iv) Width varies from 400km in kashmir to 150km in Arunanchal Pradesh.
(v) Himalaya consist of three parallel ranges in longitudinal extend:
▪Himadri/ great inner himalayas
▪Himachal/ lesser Himalayas
▪Shiwaliks/ outermost Himalayas.

Peninsular Plateau:
(i) It is a table land composed of the old crystal line, igneous metamorphic rocks.
(ii)Aravali hills lie on its north west and western region.
(iii) Formed due to breaking and drifting of Gondwana land.
(iv)Extend from gujarat to delhi, south west- north east direction.
(v) They are highly eroded hills and are found as broken hills.
(vi) It is a part of the oldest landmass.
(vii) Plateau has broad and shallow vally and rounded hills.
(viii)It conaist of two broad divisions
▪central highland
▪deccan plateau
