A cuboid of length 4 cm,breadth 6 cm and height 8 cm is formed using units cubes.All the faces of the cuboid are painted using different colours.now the cubes are seperated and the cubes with no face painted are used to form a new cuboid.Find the volume of a new formed cuboid.

unit cubes at the edges are chopped off.
length, breadth and height are reduced by 2 units (1 at each of the ends)
therefore volume of the new cube=2*4*6=48
