A cuboidal oil tin is 30cm X 40cm X 50cm. Find the cost of the tin required for making 20 such tins if the cost of tin sheet is Rs. 20/m2.

Solution:-
Length of cuboidal tin 30 cm = 0.3 m
Breadth = 40 cm = 0.4 m
Height = 50 cm = 0.5 m
Total Surface area = 2(LB*BH*HL)
= 2(0.3*0.4 + 0.4*0.5 + 0.5*0.3)
= 2(0.12 + 0.2 + 0.15)
= 2*0.47
= 0.94 sq m
Total surface area of one tin = 0.94 sq m
Surface area of 20 such tins = 20*0.94
= 18.8 sq m
Cost of making tin sheet = Rs. 20 per sq m
Total cost of making 20 tin sheet = 18.8*20
= Rs. 376
