Answer:

  • Thickness of the geometry box is 2.26 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

  • Volume of a cuboidal shaped geometry is 289 cm³.
  • Length of the geometry box is 17 cm.
  • Breadth of the geometry box is 8.5 cm.

To Find:

  • Thickness (Height) of the geometry box.

As we know that:

Area of a cuboid = (L × B × H) cm³

Where,

  • L = Length
  • B = Breadth
  • H = Height

Substituting the values,

\sf{289=15\times8.5\times H}

Multiplying the numbers on RHS,

\sf{\longrightarrow 289=127.5\times H}

Transposing 127.5 from RHS to LHS and changing its sign,

\sf{\longrightarrow \dfrac{289}{127.5}= H}

Multiplying both denominator and numerator by 10,

\sf{\longrightarrow \dfrac{289\times10}{127.5\times10}= H}

\sf{\longrightarrow \dfrac{2890}{1275}= H}

Reducing the numbers,

\sf{\longrightarrow \dfrac{2890\div85}{1275\div85}= H}

\sf{\longrightarrow \dfrac{34}{15}= H}

Dividing 34 by 15,

\sf{\longrightarrow 2.26= H}

Hence, H = 2.26

Therefore, thickness of the geometry box is 2.26 cm.
