a cuboidal tank has total surface area of 40m^2 and its lateral surface area is 26m^2.find its area of its base . if the height of water level is 8m, find the volume of water in the tank

TSA=40m²

=>2(lb+bh+lh)=40m²

=>lb+bh+lh=20m²..................(1)


LSA=26m²

=>2h(l+b)=26m²

=>h(l+b)=13m²

=>lh+bh=13m²..........................(2)


substitute (2) in (1)

=>lb+13=20m²

=>lb=7m²

area=lb=7m²
