A current of 0.5 A is drawn by a filament of an electric bulb for 5 minutes. What will be the amount of electric charge that flow through the circuit?

  • Let I be the current flowing through an electrical circuit t be the time of flow and Q be the total charge. We have the expression for the total charge as,

        Q = It     ...(1)

        We can use this expression for solving the given question.

   

  • From the question,

       I =0.5A

       t =5 min = 5\times 60  =300s

       Then,

       Substituting these values into equation (3)

        Q = 0.5\times 300=150C
