A current of 4 ampere is flowing in a copper wire. If the same current is allowed to flow through another copper wire of double the radius, what is the effect on the drift velocity of free electrons?

Current is directly proportional to area of cross section The effect on drift velocity of free electrons will increase

drift velocity of electron will remains the same but current will increase due to increase in no of electrons passing per unit area
