A cyclist has a speed of 5m/s North wards. He changes the direction to west and continues with the same speed of 5m/s. Is there any acceleration? (Time taken is 5 second)

Yes, acceleration takes place in this situation because acceleration is a vector quantity!! Which has magnitude as well as direction, so, if the velocity changes which is also a vetor quantity while magnitude or direction, the acceleration takes place..
