A cyclist rides his cycle with a speed of 30m/s for the first half and next half length he covers with a speed of 45 m/ s. Find the average speed of the cyclist

Shortcut  formula
V1=30m/s   V2= 45m/s
formula to calculate average speed =2v1v2/v1+v2
2*30*45/30+45 (on calculating)
average speed= 36m/s
                                         (or)    (second method)
Let the total distance covered is 'd'
v1=30m/s  d1=d/2
time to cover the first half is t1
v1= d1/t1
t1=d/2/30
similarly t2=d/2/45
total timeT =t1+t2
T=d/60+d/90
average velocity =total distance/total time
average velocity=d/d/60+d/90
on calculating we get
average velocity= 60*90/60+90
average velocity= 36m/s
