Answer:

Speed of cyclist = 8km/hr

Speed of wind = 4km/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the speed of cyclist be u and speed of wind be v

When he drove the cycle against the wind, speed of wind will get subtracted from the cyclist speed

speed = distance/time

u-v=12/3

u-v=4  ------(i)

When he drove with the wind the speed of wind will get added to speed of cyclist

speed = distance/time

u+v=12/1

u+v=12 -------(ii)

Adding i and ii

2u=16

u=8km/hr

Substituting the value of u in eqn ii

v=12-8

v=4km/hr

hence

speed of cyclist in no wind is 8km/hr.

speed of wind is 4km/hr.
