The Adipose tissue is the modified form of Areolar tissue only, but it have many large spherical fat storing cells known as Adipocytes. Let's know more about its structure and function, with some special bites.
- The Adipocytes/Fat cells have large fat storing globule which pushes the nucleus and cytoplasm near the membrane/ to the periphery.
- They store reserve food material and hence provide shock cushions near delicate internal organs like Heart.
- And this fat also helps in providing insulation and preventing the loss of heat from the body.
- They generally form the subcutaneous layer and cushions near the internal organs. [LOCATION]
- Special fact✏️ The Fat cells/Adipocytes are star shaped at first, but later due to the accumulation of fat droplets inside it, it become ring shaped.
