Let the radius be r
Height be h
Volume of cylinder,V₁ = πr²h
Volume of cone,V₂ = (1/3)πr²h
Ratio,V₁:V₂ = πr²h: [(1/3)πr²h]
=3 :1

Volume of cylinder = πr2h
Volume of cone = 1/3πr2h
As height(h) and radius (r) are equal..
πr2h:1/3πr2h
πr2h gets cancelled!
=1:1/3
=3:1
Hence the ratio of their volumes is 3:1 !!
Hope this helps!!
cheers!! :)
