Given :

  • Diameter of the cylinder = 60mm

  • Height of the Axis  = 80 mm

  • Resting in the HP

Procedure :

  • Draw XY line.

  • As the cylinder is resting in HP, so the circle will be seen in FV & rectangle in TV.

  • Draw FV as the circle of 50 mm diameter above the XY line at some convenient distances.

  • Draw horizontal &vertical axis of the circle.

  • Divide circle in 12 equal parts.

  • Take projections of all the point in TV.

  • Complete TV taking axis length 60 mm. Draw all generators of the circle.

  • Name TV on both the tops base as well as the bottom base 1, 2, 3 .....…12.

Stage 2 :

  • As the axis is inclined at the 50° to X-Y line the base 1 7 line will be at 60° inclined to XY line.

  • So first mark the point 7 at a convenient distance on the X=Y line. Then draw the line 1 7 at angle of 60°, so that axis will be in inclination at 50°.

  • Using the compass mark all points from stage 1 to the stage 2 on the line 1 7.

  • Complete TV in the inclined position by using the compass.

  • Take horizontal projection of all the 12 points 1’, 2’, 3’, … 12’ towards the right side in the FV.

  • Take projections of the inclined TV in-to FV of all points 1, 2, 3,...…12 from the both bases top & bottom.

  • Intersection of 1 &1’ will give the point 1, Intersection of the 2 & 2’ will give the point 2, Intersection of 3 & 3’ will give the point 3…….up to the point 12.

  • Half of the circle from bottom base will invisible from point 4’ to 10’. Draw it as if it is having hidden curves.

  • Draw the smooth curve passing through that the remaining points.

  • Join the end generators.
