a cylinder which is open at one end has a radius of 6.3cm and a height of 25cm.What is the surface area of the cylinder in square centimeters. i need step by step explanation.

total surface area of cylinder is 2πr(h+r)

r, radius = 6.3

h, height = 25cm

=> 2 * \frac{22}{7\\}  * \frac{63}{10}  ( 25 + 6.3)   { taking 6.3 as 63/10 }

=> 2 * \frac{22}{7}  * \frac{63}{10}  ( 31.3)

=> 2 * \frac{22}{7}  * \frac{63}{10} * \frac{313}{10}

=> \frac{2 * 22 * 9 * 313}{10}

=>\frac{123948}{100}

=> 1239.48cm^2

the total surface area is  1239.48cm^2.
