Correct Question:

  • A cylindrical vessel open at one end is made of opper sheet. The area of the inner surface area is 148.5 sq dm and the area of base is 38.5 sq dm. How many cubic dm of milk will the vessel hold?

Given:

  • Area of the inner side = 148.5 dm²
  • Area of the base = 38.5 dm²

To Find:

  • Cubic dm of mil the vessel will hold

Solution:

Here we have to find the volume of the vessel

First finding the radius of the cylindrical vessel,

Area of base = 38.5 dm²

π r² = 38.5 dm²

r² = 38.5 × 7/22

r² = 12.25

r = 3.5 cm

Now finding the height of the vessel,

2 π r h = 148.5 dm²

2 × 22/7 × 3.5 × h = 148.5

22h = 148.5

h = 6.75 dm

Now finding the volume of the vessel,

Volume of the vessel = π r² h

Volume of the vessel = 22/7 × (3.5)² × 6.75

Volume of the vessel = 259.875 dm³

Hence 259.875 dm³ of milk can be filled in the vessel.
