Answer:

t.s.a=2 \pir r(r+h)

22/7*2*2.1(2.1+4.5)+1/7(2*22/7*2.1(2.1+4.5)=87.12+12.4457=99.5657m2

Question =》

a cylindrical milk Storage tank has 4.2 metre as diameter and 4.5 metres height how much Steel sheet was actually used to make this closed tank if 1 by 7 of Steel sheet was wasted making the tank

Given =》

Cylindrical milk steel storage tank has 4.2 m as diameter and 4.5m height

Solution =》

a) quantity of milk it can contain = Volume of cylindrical milk steel storage tank

We know volume of cylinder =

2\pi \: rh

so,

Volume of cylindrical milk steel storage tank =

2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 2.1 {}^{2}  \times 4.5 \\  \\  = 62.37m {}^{3} \\

We know 1³=1000 L

Quantity of milk it can contain = 62.37m³= 62370 L

B) Steel sheet was actually used to make this closed tank , if 1/7 of steel sheet was wasted in making the tank .

so,

Total steel sheet = Total surface area of tank ( As we have closed tank ) +1/7Total surface area of tank

We know that total surface area of cylinder =

2\pi \: r(h + r)

Total sheet =

2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 2.1(2.1 + 4.5) +  \frac{1}{7} (2 \times  \frac{22}{7 }   \times 2.1(2.1 + 4.5)) \\  = 2 \times 22 \times 0.3 \times 6.6 +  \frac{1}{7} (2 \times 22 \times 0.3 \times 6.6) \\  = 87.12 +  \frac{1}{7}  \times 87.12 \\  = 87.12 + 12.4457 \\  = 99.5657 \\  = 99.57m {}^{2}

Hope this information will clear your doubts about topic
