Dimensions of the cylindrical

oil tank:

diameter (d) = 7m

height (h)= 9m

Radius (r) =d/2 = 7/2 m

i) Total surface area of

the tank = 2πr(r+h)

= 2×(22/7)×(7/2)[7/2+9]

= 22×(3.5+9)

= 22×12.5 m²

ii ) Cost of painting 1 sq m

= Rs 35

Cost of painting (22×12.5)m²

= 35 × 22×12.5

=Rs9625
