Total cost of painting is ₹11000

Given data :

Diameter of the tank is 7 metres

Height of the tank is 9 metres

Painting cost is ₹20 per metre square.

• Radius of the tank = 7/2 metres

•At first we have to find the surface area.

• Now the thickness is not mentioned here,so we will assume that the inner outer surface area are equal.

• So,the total curved surface area will be = {2×(2×π×radius×height)}

= {2×(2×22/7×7/2×9)}

= 2×198

= 396 m²

So,the base and lid area will be also included in the total surface area

• The base and lid area

= {4×(π×radius²)} [×4 for the both side of base and lid]

= {4×(22/7×7/2×7/2)}

= (4×77/2)

= 154 m²

So,the total surface area

= (total curved surface area + base area and lid area)

= (396+154) m²

= 550 m²

Now,the total cost will be

= 1 m² cost = ₹20

550 m² cost = 550×20 = ₹ 11000 (answer)
