Hii !!

Diameter of cylindrical pillar = 50 cm

Radius of cylindrical pillar = d/2 = 25 cm

Height of cylindrical pillar = 3.5 m = 350 cm.

Therefore,

CSA of cylindrical pillar = 2πRH = 2 × 22/7 × 25 × 350 = ( 2 × 22 × 25 × 50 ) = 55000 cm².

nickkaushiknick: Hey, here height is in metres and diameter is in centimeters, you did not change height and diameter in like units. It can not be solved if units are not equal.

Here Diameter of the pillar is 50 cm and height is 3.5 m or 350 cm

We know that Curved Surface Area of Cylinder = 2πrh or πdh

∴ Curved Surface Area of Cylindrical pillar = π × 50 × 350

                                                                      = (22/7) × 50 × 350 (∵ π = 22/7)

                                                                       = 22 × 50 × 50

                                                                        = 55000 cm² or 5.5 m²
