A cylindrical tube open at both ends has fundamental frequency f ,in air . the tube is dipped vertically . in water so that half of it is in water . the fundamental frequency of the air - column is now ? ​

Initially for open organ oipe , fundamental frequency , V• = V/4l = f ( given ) _____(1)

But , when it is half dipped in water , then it becomes closed organ pipe of length L/2 in this case , fundamental frequency ,

V• = v/4L = v/ 4* L/2 = v/2L = f _____(2)

Dividing (2) to (1)

We get double of initial .

So option D is correct

hey... the answer is option(a). hopefully.... the answer is correct!

one more thing... u have answered one of my question actually it's answer is 90...for the first time I also got 85 by taking the axis as origin but it is written in the question.. that the axis we have to take is passing through the bigger ring... therefore the answer is 90..
