A cylindrical tube opened at the ends is amde up of iron sheet which is 2 cm thick. If outer diameter is 16 cm and its length is 100 cm find how many cubic cm of iron has been used in making the tube

Answer:to find the amount of iron used , we need to know the volume of that cylindrical tube .

volume of cylindrical tube = volume of whole cylinder - volume of inner cylinder [ hollow part ]

length of tube = height of cylinder

thus , volume of whole cylinder = pie * r^2 * h

height = 100 cm and r of whole cylinder = 16/2 = 8 cm

thus volume of cylinder = 22 / 7 * 8 * 8 * 100

volume of hollow part = 22 / 7 * 6 * 6 * 100 [ radius = 8 - 2 ]

thus volume of iron = 22 / 7 * 8 * 8 * 100 - [ 22 / 7 * 6 * 6 * 100 }

8800 cm 3 will be the answer after solving it
