A dam has a base area of 2500 m square and is filled with water of high 27 m. What is the pressure exerted on the base of the dam?

acceleration due to gravity = 10 m/s^2

h = 27 m

pressure= 1000*10*27 = 2.7*10^5 N/m^2

force = pressure*area

= 2.7*10^5 * 2500 = 6750*10^5 N
