Answer:

a) From pipe B water gush out fastest.

b) The range of water flowing from pipe B is more than the water flowing from pipe A.

Explanation:

Given,

Pipe A is at depth (d1) from the surface of the water is 5m.

Pipe B is at depth (d2) from the surface of the water is 25m.

To find,

a) From which pipe will water gush out fastest and why?

b) Show how water will flow out from pipe A and pipe B.

Calculation,

a) According to Torricelli's theorem the velocity of efflux(v) i.e. the velocity with which the liquid flows out of a hole is equal to √(2gh)

v = √(2gh)

i.e. v ∝ √h

Hence the more depth (h) the more velocity with which the water comes out.

Therefore, from pipe B water gush out fastest.

b) As water flowing from pipe B is more compared to the water flowing out of pipe B.

Therefore, the range of water flowing from pipe B is more than the water flowing from pipe A.
