Solution:

Selling price of a dinner set = Rs 11515

Discount percentage = 16%

Let the marked price be 'x'.

Discount is always calculated on the marked price.

Discount = (x) × (16/100) = 4x/25

Marked price - Discount = Selling Price

x - 4x/25 = 11515

21x/25 = 11515

x = 11515x (25/21)

x = 16450

Therefore, marked price of the dinner set is Rs 16450.

Answer:

The marked price of refrigerator is Rs.16450.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A dealer bought a refrigerator for $ 11515. After allowing a discount of 16% on its marked price, he gains 20%.

To find : The marked price of the refrigerator?

Solution :

Cost Price is Rs 11515

Discount on its marked price = 16%

Profit % = 20%

Selling price formula is given by,

SP= C.P + \frac{P\%}{100} \times CP

SP=11515 + \frac{20}{100} \times 11515

SP=11515 +2303

SP=13818

The selling price is Rs.13818.

Market price formula is given by,

M.P = \frac{SP\times100}{100-D\%}

M.P = \frac{13818\times100}{100-16}

M.P = \frac{1381800}{84}

M.P =16450

Therefore, The marked price of refrigerator is Rs.16450.
