First dealer

Cost of scooter: Rs 20500

Selling price of scooter: Rs 25000

Second dealer

Cost of scooter: Rs 22000

Selling price of scooter: Rs 28800

To find out who made a better buy, calculate the profit earned by subtracting the cost from the selling price of the scooter.

First dealer

Rs 25000 - Rs 20500 = Rs 4500

Second dealer

Rs 28800 - Rs 22000 = Rs 6800

The dealer with the more profit earned made a better buy. Therefore, the second dealer made a better buy.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • First dealer bought scooter for Rs 20,500
  • Second declare bought scooter for Rs 22,000
  • First dealer sold scooter for Rs 25,000
  • Second dealer bought scooter for Rs 28,800

To Find:

  • Which dealer among them made a better buy?

Solution: First dealer case

  • Cost Price = Rs 20,500
  • Selling Price = Rs 25,000

On comparing C.P and S.P

→ S.P > C.P ( Hence, There is profit )

Profit = S.P C.P

\small\implies{\sf } Profit = Rs (25,000 20,500)

\small\implies{\sf } Profit = Rs 4500

Second Dealer case

  • Cost Price = Rs 22,000
  • Selling Price = Rs 28,800

On comparing C.P and S.P

→ S.P > C.P ( Hence, There is profit )

Profit = S.P C.P

\small\implies{\sf } Profit = Rs ( 28,800 22,000)

\small\implies{\sf } Profit = Rs 6800

Hence, We can clearly say that second dealer has made a better profit.
