Given:–

  • Cost price of goods = Rs.6000
  • Rate of C.G.S.T. = 18%

To find:–

  • Dealer pay for goods bought.

Topic:–

  • G.S.T. (Goods and services tax)

Some common terms:–

  • CGST :- It is collected by the central government for intrastate or movement of goods sold services.
  • SGST :- It is collected by the state government for intrastate territory transaction or movement of goods.
  • IGST :- It is taken by central government for inter-state transaction of services and goods.
  • GST is a tax which is levied on one buys/transfers goods or services.

Step by step explaination:–

As it is an Intra-state transaction therefore CGST and SGST would be calculated by taking half of GST rate that is 9% and IGST would remain nil or 0.

⟹ CGST = 9% of 6000

⟹ CGST = 9/100 × 6000

Reducing to their lowest terms.

CGST = 9×60

⟹ CGST = Rs.540

Calculating the SGST.

⟹ SGST = 9% of 6000

⟹ SGST = 9/100 × 6000

Reducing to their lowest terms.

⟹ SGST = 9×60

⟹ SGST = Rs.540

Hence,

Amount paid by dealer is ⟹ Rs.6000 + Rs.540 + Rs.540

⟹ Rs.7080
