Let Cost price of 1 g be 'x'

So ,cost price for 16g is '16x'

Dealer gives a discount of 6%

=> Discount = 6/100*16x = 24x/25

So, Selling Price is (16x -24x/25) = 8x(2 - 3/25)

= 8x*47/25

=  376x/25

But,dealer uses 14g instead of 16g, so actual cost was only '14x'

Hence Profit/Loss = 376x/25 - 14x

=26x/25 > 0 , hence profit

Profit % = Profit/14x

= (26x/25)/14x * 100%

=52/7 %

=7.428%
