Correct question!!

A dealer sells goods worth ₹ 30,000 to some other dealer in the same town at a discount of 25%. If the rate of GST is 12%, find the amount of bill.

Solution!!

The concept of GST has to be used here. The cost price of goods for the other dealer, discount% and the rate of GST is given in the question. We have to find the amount of bill.

Cost price of goods = Rs 30,000

Discount% = 25

Discounted price = (100% - 25%) of 30,000

• Discounted price = 75% of 30,000

• Discounted price = (75/100) × 30,000

• Discounted price = 75 × 300

Discounted price = Rs 22,500

Rate of GST = 12%

GST = 12% of 22,500

• GST = (12/100) × 22,500

• GST = 12 × 225

GST = Rs 2,700

Amount of bill = Discounted price + GST

• Amount of bill = Rs 22,500 + Rs 2,700

Amount of bill = Rs 25,200
