A deci-molar solution of NaOH contains 4 g NaOH per liter of the solution.

We know that:

  • 1M = 10 deci-molar
  • 1 deci-molar = M/10
  • 1M sodium hydroxide solution (NaOH)

Solution:

  • In 1000 ml of a solution there is 40 grams of sodium hydroxide (NaOH).
  • 40 gram NaOH = 1 mole of NaOH
  • 1M sodium hydroxide solution contains = 40 g of NaOH
  • (M/10) NaOH solution contains = 40 g x 0.1 / 1
  • (M/10) NaOH solution contains = 4 grams of NaOH

Thus, 4 grams of NaOH is dissolved in a 1000ml or 1-liter solution.
