a. When a metal is attacked by substances around it such as moisture, acids etc. it is sid to be corrode and this process is known as the corrosion.

4Fe + 3O2 + 2xH2O -------- 2Fe2.xH2O
c.If the silver colour is black then we came to know that tanning of silver is happened.
d.This is because every year an enormous amount of money is spent to replace damaged iron.
e.We can prevent corrosion by painting, oiling, greasing, anodising, galvanizing etc.

(a) The formation of un- wanted substance on the iron such as the sulphide, when it comes in the contact with oxygen and moisture. this is corrosion. (b) rusting (c) the deposits of green colour substance indicates the corrosion of silver (d) the corrosion of a substance is a serious problem as many of the substance, like big bridge , ship corrode easily, it is not economically beneficial. (e) by using paint and grease, alloying,plastic covering etc.

The deposition of green color substance ( copper hydroxocarbonate) happens in the corrosion of copper. Copper undergoes corrosion under the presence of O2, H2O and CO2.
