A design on the floor of a building is made of 5,000 tiles each tile is in the shape of parallelogram of altitude 6 cm and the base 10 cm. Find the cost of polishing the design at the rate of rupees 3.20 per square metre.

 \Huge{\boxed{\pink{\mathcal{ANSWER}}}}

 \bold{Given\:that,}

No. of tiles = 5,000

Altitude (height) = 6 cm

Base = 10 cm

 \bold{To\:find,}

The cost of polishing the design = ?

Before finding the cost, we've to find the area of each parallelogram tiles and then we've to multiply it with the rate.

First of all, we'll find the area of one parallelogram tile.

Area of one parallelogram tile= bh

Area =  10\:cm \times 6\:cm

Area =  60\:cm^2

 \large{\bold{Area\:of\:each\:tile\:is\:60\:cm^2.}}

Now, we'll multiply the area with 5,000 because all the tiles are similar to each and by this we'll get the area of whole tiles.

Total area =  area\:of\:one\:tile \times 5,000

Total area =  60\:cm^2 \times 5,000

Total area =  300,000\:cm^2

But, 1 m = 100 cm

Then, 300,000 cm =  \frac{300,000}{100} m

300,000 cm =  \frac{3000 \cancel{00}}{\cancel{100}}

Total area =  3000\:m^2

 \large{\bold{Total\:area\:is\:3000\:cm^2.}}

Now, we'll multiply total area with the rate, to get the cost of polishing the whole design.

Cost of polishing = Total area of parallelogram tiles \times rate

Cost of polishing =  3000 \times 3.20

Cost of polishing = ₹9,600

 \large{\bold{Cost\:of\:polishing\:is\:Rs.\:9,600.}}

 \Huge{\boxed{\green{COST\:=\:Rs.\:9,600}}}
