a diagonal of a quardilateral is 20 cm in length and the perpendiculars to it from the opposite vertices are 8.5 m and 11 m. Find the area of quardilatetal

A special formula has to be used here.

For any general quadrilateral ,

The area of any general quad = 1/2* area of one of its  diagonal * sum of perpendiculars from opp vertices

So, here the Ar ( quad ) = 1/2 * 20 * ( 8.5 + 11 )
= 1/2 * 20 * 19.5
= 10 * 19.5
= 195 cm²

The area of this general quadrilateral is 195 cm².
