Question :-

A dice is rolled twice find the probability thta 5 will not come up either time.

Answer :-

probability =

 \frac{favourable\: outcomes}{total \: number \: of \: outcomes}

So probability that 5 will not come up when the dice is roled for first time =

 \frac{1}{6}

So probability that 5 will not come up when the dice is roled for first time =

 \frac{1}{6}

So probability that 5 will not come up both times is

 \frac{1}{6}  +  \frac{1}{6}  =  \frac{2}{6} =  \frac{1}{3}
