Answer:

a) 1/2 (50%)

b) 1/2 (50%)

Step-by-step explanation:

Possible outcomes = 1,2,3,4,5,6

No. of possible outcomes = 6

a) Prime numbers within possible outcomes = 2,3,5

   No. of favoured outcomes = 3

   Probability = 3/6

                      = 1/2

                      = 50%

b) Even numbers within possible outcomes = 2,4.6

   No. of favoured outcomes = 3

   Probability = 3/6

                      = 1/2

                      = 50%

When a die is thriwn once the sample space will be n(S)=6.

Now, let A be the case of getting a prime no. There are three prime nos. on a die ie. 2,3,5.

So Probability of getting a prime no. is P(A)=3/6=0.5

Now, there are 2,4 and 6- three even nos. and three odd nos. ie.1,3,5.

So,probability of getting an even no. and an odd no. is 0.5 and 0.5 repectively.
